Our specialised tutors create bespoke learning experiences for students that are interested in creative technology. Whether you are new to coding or digital design or want to enhance your skills, we have experienced tutors ready to guide you through the learning expereince.
DIGITAL SKILLS TO LEARN
.CODING & PROGRAMMING.
Students get to design their own arcade games
Projects include creating projectiles, scoring systems, levels, design of the game and experience.
There is a variety of software available to work with and if a student is familiar or has a desire to work with a certain program this can be adapted. Examples include: minecraft, roblox and makecode arcade.
.3D MODELLING &. .3D PRINTING.
Students choose a 3D Modelling program to explore with their tutor
sessions can be adapted to students prior experience of software
Understand the different types of 3D printing, their uses & work through 3D modelling projects
Prepare 3D digital models ready for 3D print.
We can also arrange for models to be printed and sent to you!
.VIRTUAL & AUGMENTED
Students learn to model using 3D creation tools
Highly creative course and is an excellent way to introduce students to coding in a totally unique way.
All our students get to create their own bespoke virtual environments and receive one of our VR headsets (compatible with a smartphone).
.ARCHITECTURE. .& CAD.
Students choose a 3D design program of their choice eg. TinkerCAD, Sketch-UP, Vectorworks, AutoCAD.
Explore architectural 2D drawings (hand drawing & CAD)
Learn how to visualise your ideas using 3D modelling technology
Present design ideas in a professional way, create design packs.
This is great for students who are thinking about a degree/career in architecture or are interested in other careers that involve 3D design.
Students choose from a variety of projects that explore the possibilities of Illustrator or Gravit.
These are both fantastic tools to explore graphic design skills and start understanding vectors and how to manipulate them.
Tutors work with students on projects such as logo design, content creation, digital manipulation and any specific areas of interest they may have.
CODING & PROGRAMMING
The BBC micro:bit is a microcontroller that can be used as a starting point for simple coding projects, right through to complex robotics design.
It is an accessible piece of hardware which can give students real-life examples of their coding projects.
Students can program the micro:bit with a variety of coding languages.
It is an excellent tool to help students see physical outcomes to their coding projects.
As well as our teaching in schools and at peoples homes, we now provide private tuition online. This can be on a 1:1 basis or for groups of up to six.
We connect using Zoom or another platform of your choice. As well as our weekly sessions, we offer all our young students the option of additional activities to work on during the week. Depending on which digital technology they are working with, we have access to materials, a lending library of robotics equipment and 3D printers to test out students modelling.

We believe teaching should be dynamic and adapt to meet individual learning styles and interests. Rather than having a rigid syllabus, our teaching responds to individuals aptitudes and skill sets.
As humans, we excel at activities we enjoy.
We therefore believe it is fundamental to make learning
an inspiring experience.
This makes the journey more enjoyable and
far more productive.

Why do you like learning with Building Imagination?
"Me and my friends love learning with Building Imagination because we learn new skills and get to think about ideas and inventions to make the world an even more exciting and happier place"
Suzzie (age 12)
"We've been truly stunned at the speed of progress of both our children, they're now teaching us!"
Hugo J, Parent (Online tutoring)
"Our daughter was always loved using the Ipad and computer at home but would often be engaging with content we didn't feel was educational or beneficial for her development. She is now absolutely in love with coding and wants to launch her own tech company!"
